- Ah Annie, did you do your own work? Yes, I've got a boat and for sure the maintenance is always there but if you keep a regular maintenance schedule and do your own repairs it is definitely manageable. Plus bring LOTS of spares. Everytime something breaks I buy two (within reason)...
- Well, I know what boat mechanics charge and I couldn't afford to keep going if I had to pay them. Sheeze, I was away from the boat for a while when I had her down in the Abacos a couple winters ago. Needed to put a new exhaust manifold on the genset. $280.00 in parts and almost a grand in labor.
